April's work engages notions of believe as they develop through storytelling and the particularities of language. She is interested in combining forms and media, so that something unexpected emerges.

Unfolding complex structures through anthro-pomorphized animals, birds, reptiles, and fish who float on crop circles, globular clusters, and slime pools, her work, both written and visual is modeled on the overlapping arrangement of a fugue, where multiple voices speak as through a type of malfunctioning harmonium. Accumulation of information is presented with subtle demand for deciphering that is both intense and absurdly humorous.

Her collaboration with Olive Martin has included Common Objects a collection of photographs by Ms. Martin and texts by Ms. Durham, published in France by Joca Seria Editions and in the US by Beyond Baroque Books. It is available on Amazon.
