Bryan Gorrie

Bryan's paintings, drawings, and prints struggle with the tension between broad expression and fine detail. His nervous line often overlays thick texture that both mirrors and contradicts the impostion. His interest in cartography, anthropology, history, and physics collide in his investigation into the tension between figure and ground, line and surface.

Bryan has an MFA from Claremont Graduate School and a BA from Pepperdine University. He has been on every earthly continent but Antarctica and South America and has plans to visit both soon.
